Very cool. Not too long-a bit fast-but catchy... 3.5 novas.
(ot, wtf "nova" comes up with a shitload of boobies!) 1215/234215 (top .51875%) People really have got to stop thinking there is only one operating system, one economic system, one religion, and one business model. -EvilTwinSkippy (/.) Last edited by Paul : 2005-01-27 at 21:05. |

And by "at least half," you mean "none"?

That's because, luca, your search has moderate filtering on. If you turn it off, you will get teh boobies.

No, as I said, filtering is off. Just for kicks I turned it on and back off... no change. I also tried doing the same with IE... no change.

Okay I split it off to keep the other thread from derailing further. You may have to repost in the other thread, Paul - I did what I could.
Anyhoo, it seems as though Google Image Search is giving the two of us different results. Namely, I don't get teh bewbies when I search for "nova" but these guys do. EDIT: Clearing cache doesn't change anything. |

Damn! I want the breasts!
Very very strange. I don't get any breasts, and I've tried searching anything possible. Could it be that I am connected through a University internet connection, and they might be filtering? I am at Marquette University, you might know us for getting slaughtered by University of Louisville by 47 points last night.

Luca, any more insight? This google discrepancy has piqued my interest.

I get the same results when searching from a different computer on a different network, here on the U of MN campus. I don't know exactly how the U's internet service works, but the one I have at home is Qwest DSL. This is definitely NOT Qwest DSL (it's some kind of hyper-fast private U of M T3 thingie that gets something like 3-7 megabits down AND up), but I get the same results.

This is interesting. I get the porn pictures when connected normally, but when I VPN in through Northwestern U I get the results posted by Luca. I'll post screenshots momentarily. I would think this is on Google's end since I've heard nothing about anyone at the University doing this.
I also just noticed that it actually says it returns more results through .edu even though it isn't displaying the porn. Home connection: .edu through VPN (update: see post below. I now get the results above for both): Last edited by autodata : 2005-01-29 at 19:30. |

Weird. Now I get the same results for both. Those @ .edu, try again and see what happens.
BTW, this might have something to do with it: Quote:
Also, there has been a bit of discussion about Google actively updating the image search index which has received heavy criticism in recent months for being out-of-date. Last edited by autodata : 2005-01-29 at 19:35. |

My filters are off. I get no boobies. Odd.
Edit: I'm not on a university line. It's a regular residential cable modem. And firefox gives me no boobies either. Come waste your time with me |

I don't get boobies on either my home (Comcast) or .edu lines on either firefox or safari

Well, I guess Google is updating its Image Search database? Maybe that would explain it. I do tend to get a LOT of 404s when I do GIS.

The size of the bass units in the back of the Mondeo behind the orange Nova is ridiculous.
