i think they are going to release a madonna ipod just like with the u2 one, as she is releasing her album earlier on itunes and her entire back catalog was just released on itunes this morning (whereas before she had nothing on itunes) also she is in the new motorola ROKR itunes phone commercial.

CNBC just had a segment on the Apple announcement. The reporter is saying that this is a 3-in-1 device. That is, it does photos, music, and communication. The anchors commented that the trouble with an "all-in-one" device is that it might not do all of those functions well. We all know that age old argument....but I think this will be good. If anyone knows how to do a broad based, well-received AIO, it's Apple.

A Madonna iPod would be a massive miscalculation of public taste.
But I think the same thing about a video iPod, especially after the underwhelming response to iPod photo.

But here, I'll stir the waters.....McCartney has a new CD out next week, (it's produced by Nigel Godrich of OK computer fame) and he's been in America for a while..........

it's mostly men on the board, but there are piles of women who buy ipods... i see them all the time. In addition to a pink ipod, a madonna one would be pretty sweet.

but i wouldn't buy it.

the media loves giving her attention, she'll be in the news and on tv and mtv with her new video, she'll be on the radio, she'll be doing interviews, she'll sell a couple million records, and there are still a large amount of people who love her.

it's better than a Green Day iPod at least.

Madonna does create publicity but she doesn't sell nearly the quantities she used to, her recent tour had (*gasp*) empty seats.

Frankly, I don't think you have the stats to back up the fact that something like a Madonna SE iPod will or will not sell. We'll see. It might not even happen.

I think we're all going to be pretty disappointed. If you have APPL stock I'd recommend that you sell before the announcement. It's at a 52 week high.

The UK Apple Store has gone away. The US store is still up as I'm writing. Does this mean that the phone is going to be sold on the Apple store, or could this be signs of bigger and better things...?

Let's just wait now, but I thought that the iPod line was going to see some sort of bump, regardless of the Phone launch.

Not to throw anyone here into a tizzy, but I just got off the phone with my Apple account rep (bugging me to spend my Line of Credit). I told him that when the new PowerMacs come out, I'll buy.
