I have been asked to create a database in MS Works. I have previously done this work using Filemaker Pro, but converting to a format that my PC client can read and work with has been a problem (it does not transfer all the headings).
Do I need to purchase Windows (I already have Parallels installed) and a PC version of Works, or is there a way to convert Filemaker files intact? If I have to purchase Windows, which one is recommended? I am using OS X v. 10.5.6 on an iMac with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor (3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM). I am grateful for any help on this. |

MS Works costs $39.95 USD
Run it in Parallels under Wine for Linux There are several import formats for Filemaker Pro - probably an excel file format would be easiest. real hackers don't use sigs |

Thanks, Taskiss. I bought the Crossroads (Wine) program, but could not use it to install MS Works. So, I took the plunge (into Windows, that is) and purchase Windows xp. I already had Parallels Desktop, so installation was very easy and I am now using the Works database. Hate it, but it achieves the desired result and makes me appreciate my Macs more than ever.
