Steve's calling it the biggest release since iLife was first announced.

New iPhoto feature called "Events" - presumably albums featuring a specific event instead of a date/time.

I'm guessing iWeb -- it had the most room for improvement.

Yeah, I use iWeb for a blog and it is _very_ one point oh-ish. A significant update would be greatly appreciated.

iWeb would make a lot of sense since .Mac is down.

Nothing was said about pricing. Don't assume something is true until it's actually said.

EDIT: They're apparently "replacing" iMovie.

replacing it with an app of the same name, but different icon so it looks like an entirely new program.

New pics of iPhoto on engadget. Looks really smart.

I've always though iMovie was the odd one out in iLife. iDvd and iPhoto have always been excellent but iMovie looked a bit crap in comparison. Glad to see its getting a big upgrade.

Youtube support in iMovie? Excellent.

Theres some sort of Star icon and a "graphs" icon... Keynote icon has changed too. Looks like iWork '08 will be part of this update too along with a spreadsheet like app (the graph icon)?

EDIT: the star icon is the new iMovie icon

Yay, .Mac is finally offline.

iMovie is finally what iMovie was supposed to be when they first introduced iPhoto (or perhaps even iTunes). Wonder how it works with iTunes/iPod/iPhone, especially given that PCs I guess will do things a bit differently.

I'm curious how "events" work in iPhoto. Sounds like keywords with a different implementation.

That looks like a spreadsheet/graphing app on the bottom right of the Dock, eh?

iWeb now supports personal domain names. I still won't use it, but at least it's there for those who do.

iLife '08, still $79, available today.

Oh, and .Mac storage just got bumped to 10GB, still $99/year.

Pages come up 404 sometimes, but it's getting there.

Web Gallery is a new .Mac feature that lets you share photos and movies on the web, in full quality and with a choice of stunning views. (Go and see for yourself.)

To publish photos, first make sure your .Mac account is set up in System Preferences. Next, update your version of iPhoto '08 to 7.0.1 by choosing Software Update from the Apple menu and following the prompts to install.

After installation, open iPhoto, select an album or event, and click the Web Gallery icon at the bottom of the window. Specify whether your photos will be viewable by everyone, selected visitors, or just you.

You can also allow visitors to download your photos. And you can let them upload their own – even via email or mobile phone.
Once you’ve selected your options, click Publish. The URL for your Web Gallery will appear above the published photos, and the album will be listed under Web Gallery in the left-hand column.

To send out an announcement email, click Tell a Friend at the bottom of the window
Looks like they're ironing out the bugs post-shrink-wrap.

I remember Steve saying something about all of your movies in one place.

I could imagine iMovie being a type of database for your movies, like iTunes for music, iPhoto for photos. It just makes sense.

So if my wife orderer a MBP a week or two ago, meant to arrive this week, any chance she'll get the '08 suite? Or are we paying another $79? That would piss me off.
