Our friend Kasper is reporting that Apple is planing a store in Nashville. Doesn't say if it's a "regular" store or a mini, but assumably, if it doesn't say otherwise, it's a full-size baby. The story says it should be open for business by mid-2005. Better really late than never, eh?

Jeez, Nashville isn't exactly a backwater town, last I checked (major university, two pro sports franchises, hopping art community, medical center, publishing, marketing, printing...oh, and they dabble in music a bit too)

Yeah, I'm in Chattanooga. Here's the funny part: the Alpharetta (northern Atlanta) store is technically closer to me than Nashville. Nashville is a solid two hours from Chattanooga (and a straight, flat, boring-as-hell drive, to boot), whereas Atlanta - even the central downtown part - is only 90 minutes...and the northern suburbs are even quicker!

But I've got buddies in Nashville and love going there, so now I've got an extra reason, or something extra to check out when I'm there.

And I know my Mac-using friends there will enjoy it.

Only if my brother had a interest of switching BACK to Macs or this would be good news for him. Or he could always go check out the iPods. He is in grad school at Vanderbilt university.

anyone else notice on the Apple Canada site that they're opening a Toronto, Canada (presumably mini) store at Yorkdale Mall? (I say this, as there's a link accepting applications for various positions there...)

Not a Mini store. It'll be huge. Yorkdale is renovating big time. Some of the stores they're adding are huge. The store should open in May or June.

I feel so excited and lucky: an Apple Store, only 250 miles away. And it’s impressive that Apple would consider the little village of Toronto as a possible candidate for a store in the same league as established U.S. hotspots and population centres such as Salem, New Hampshire and Farmington, Connecticut. I understand that recently Apple has also put the emerging little town of London, England in this same category, with the opening of a store there. I salute Apple’s international commitment.
