I am trying to locate ram for my girlfriend's Panasonic Toughbook W4. It takes PC2-3200 ddr2 200 pin ram. I cannot find this ram anywhere (from a reputable company) that isn't Kingston/ValueRAM. I'd like to stay away from that ram.
I found PC2-4200 ddr2 200 pin ram on Crucial, and wanted to know if i can buy that and put it in her computer without any ill effects. I'm pretty sure the memory will just get clocked down, but wanted to be 100% sure before purchasing it, as it will coexist with a non-removable 512 chip of pc2-3200. Thanks |

My Asus A8N-SLI Premium mobo barfs all over unmatched RAM. Mixed SPDs, voltages, etc...not good. You'd be even more likely to encounter problems with a namebrand laptop too, so I'd probably stick PC2-3200...and if you check the reviews, the Kingston ValueRAM is fine.

I've had two ram modules (in the past, about 2+ years ago) that were Kingston that went bad within a few months. I was advised by other forums to stay away from Kingston. Maybe they've gotten their stuff together? I'll take your word on it, and just order the newegg stuff. Thanks guys, i appreciate it.
Bah, out of stock |
