According to Apple OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard should be able to display thumbnails for Nikon D3s (NEF) Raw images.( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3825 ) However, I have not been successful in getting the system to display these files as Thumbnail images. I am running OS X 10.6.2 which is the latest version of snow leopard. I would appreciate any help that would point me in the correct direction to solve this problem.

Strange. Make sure you have Camera RAW 2.7 or later installed.

Please help me out again. I found the RawCamera.Bundle file on my 10.6.2 system. It is version 2.2.2. I also found the Camera Raw 2.7 update program on the Apple site. I downloaded this file but was unable to install it because I do not use Aperture or Iphoto. Is there any way to get my hands on a file that will update/replace the RawCamera.Bundle to Ver. 2.7? It curious that updating the OS has no effect on the file. I would have thought that just updating the would install the newest drivers.

Can't you just download the update from the Apple website? You don't have to use software update.

I have searched all around Apple website. I can find several versions to update Camera Raw (2.7 -3.0 & 3.1) but they are always associated with versions of Iphoto or Aperture not the OS. When trying to run the install the program says
"This update is not necessary."
This update provides support for Aperture2 and Iphoto (version 7.1.2 or newer) only.

This whole problem should not be so complex. Any Ideas or Suggestions?

Well, you could just install iPhoto from your install disks (unless you are using a Mac Pro, that doesn't ship with ilife), in order to get the RAW updates. If it wont let you install without one of those programs, you do not have much of a choice.
