The Hawkins-based scenes still are. I’m read somewhere that New Mexico was used for Eleven’s new California home and Lithuania for Russian(?!) scenes.

Can we just talk about how good the new season of For All Mankind is?
What a great show. |

Yes, pretty much what Paul said. I'm finally accustomed to seeing the town show up in any number of shows. We have at least 30 projects shooting at this moment (television, features, and streaming video on demand) and I'm sad to say that it's become factory work for many.
A lot of shows simply don't care about their crews, and while the vast and grand majority of crew members are golden, there are some crew members here and there who are genuine turds. The business is so much more complicated now. The art plays second fiddle to the budget, which is smart for the long term success of a company, but removes the opportunity for "wild magic" to happen. ... |

Really excited to get back into it - the first two seasons were so good. I'll probably let a few build up while I finish a few things on my viewing plate right now, like The Boys and The Baby and Severance. Lots of great stuff on the teevee right now!
So it goes. |

It's definitely the best show that no one is watching. Hopefully more people have Apple TV+ now than during seasons 1 and 2, and the show doesn't get cancelled before its time.

I'm watching an absolutely redunkulous French language show on Netflix. It's like that movie with a bus and a bomb, except the bus is an airplane and the bomb is a massive, sustained gamma ray onslaught from our sun.
I'm in season 2. IT HAS MORE THAN ONE SEASON. srsly ... |

What are some good shows out there that are "clean and wholesome" like and generally funny? Someone told Mrs T and I about The Goldbergs and we love it. We watched Schooled though it is now cancelled.
What I'm wondering is what other shows did we miss that might be worth watching? We watched NCIS for years but grew tired of the drama factor. Now when we chill at the end of a long day if we watch a show we would rather laugh before falling asleep. Oh yes! My whole family has loved The Chosen so far. That is one show we actually watch as a whole family. We are REALLY looking forward to the next season. We found it last year at some point. So well done.

I have never watched South Park. I’m aware of the general premise, the main characters and I’ve seen snippets of it over the years, but just never seemed like my kind of show.
I somehow stumbled across an episode yesterday from 2009 called “Butters’ Bottom Bitch”, centering around prostitution, pimps, undercover stings, etc. There were two scenes involving an undercover officer that made me laugh so hard I almost couldn’t breathe. I have no idea how (or even if) it made it into to TV. I don’t really want to delve into the specifics, but let’s just say there’s an undercover male cop who takes his job posing as a (female) prostitute a bit too seriously. ![]() |

I didn't watch much TV growing up because I felt guilty taking away time from studies, and then taking time away from work, and then when in school again as a civilian. So, I'm catching up.
Remington Steele fits the wholesome action and comedy description. Too bad it is one of the first examples I know of where studio interference caused it to go downhill. It was cancelled while still very popular with a large audience, then brought back on the very last day of the 60 day grace period before the actors' contracts expired (Pierce Brosnan having to be recast from the James Bond movie in which he was cast and the same for Stephanie Zimbalist and Robocop), and then changing to format to three two-part made for TV movies. The only good thing was that the actors were contracted for a whole season of 20+ shows, so were paid at that rate. |

I forgot all about that show. Wow...haven't heard it mentioned in decades.
I think that show was America's first real introduction to Pierce Brosnan, and I recall about 800 jillion-gazillion people saying "there's the next James Bond!" It took some time and doing but it eventually happened. It's unfortunate that he wasn't given better scripts/plots following Goldeneye. He should've been right up there with Connery and Craig, IMO. |

I know I've seen a few of Remington Steele as a kid with my parents. I seem to recall them watching it. I'll check it out.

I watched Remington Steele on DVD, and it is one of those shows where they show preview scenes of the show. I don't care for that, so you can skip that by starting at the second scene. Pierce Brosnan's wife convinced him to move to the United States, and this is his first role filmed in this country. No CGI here and the actors did most of their own stunts. Rumors said that the two leads did not get along, which is hard to imagine, and has lately been attributed to the long working hours rather than an actual dislike of each other. Over 15 million viewers per week, and they were still squeezed out of a time slot, I believe by a new show, Hunter, which I haven't seen.

I just finished an Amazon series starring Chris Pratt called "The Terminal List". It's revenge porn, straight out of the mold of a 1970s Charles Bronson film. You end it feeling like you need to take a shower, to get the venom off of you. I'm sure there are a billion people who totally get their rocks off on this. I followed it to see the mystery get solved. Apparently people be hating on Chris. Too lazy to find out why right now.

I finished watching Stranger Things 4 this weekend. My kids and I enjoyed it. Most of it was predicted, but not all.
For the Chris thing, I've been reading he is hated because he is a vocal conservative in the Hollywood circles. I don't know if that is true or not, but it is what I've read. Louis L'Amour, “To make democracy work, we must be a notion of participants, not simply observers. He's made a few comments over the years that could be construed as ignorant, cringey, or cruel, depending on how you choose to read them, and recently he's been defensive about his participation with a church that's known to be openly hostile to LGBTQ people and that for years administered gay "conversion" therapy.

![]() I think his lovable oaf character from Parks and Rec is still the height of his acting career. His parts in the Marvel and Jurassic World movies pale in comparison. He keeps getting cast in serious roles in these Amazon originals. Haven't watched any, but from the trailers he comes off as pretty flat in all of them.
