Flipping 1 year old tomcat knocked a glass of water onto my MBP M1 keyboard tonight. I got it shut down. Plan on taking it into the Apple Store as soon as I can.

So sorry for your loss. It does remind me of a scene from a movie though where a dog is learning to be a cat. |

I am remarkably serene about this incident, and was highly entertained to learn about Press F 🤣, so much so that my new fur cap almost fell off my head!

RIP M1 MBP. Just another reason not to have pets.

Logic boards are simpler now? That seems low.

At least you can blame it on the cat. I spilt my beer on mine by just being dumb. Wasn’t even drunk. Made me even more mad.

Extremely low, given that everything is integrated on one board now. Either that or Apple's margins on the M1 equipped Macs is astronomical.
Did something like that to my then brand new second gen MBP way back in 2007/2008. Thankfully I had one of those silicon keyboard covers, not great for heat dissipation, but saved the machine. |

Hallelujah, they didn't have to replace the motherboard or wipe the machine - I am back in business and will be a very dehydrated computer worker from now on - no drinks near me!

Saved you $400, so it just paid for itself. And to think Apple is now offering unlimited accidental damage coverage. So, go ahead and encourage your cat to pee on the keyboard!
