Okay so it turned out that I can get a Mac Book Pro 1.8 for 1000 Eur from my friend (NEW) including additional 512 mb RAM and the Mac Book 2.0 Ghz for 1400 Eur. Should I pay the extra 400 Eur for 2.0 Ghz or should I go for 1.8 Ghz.

Specs
1.8 Ghz, 1GB ram, 80GB HDD, Radeon X1600 128 MB, etc = 1000 Eur

2.0 Ghz, 1.5GB ram, 100GB HDD, Radeon X1600 256 MB, etc = 1400 Eur

thanks

Yeah I already know it is an amazing deal still have to figure out where to invest.

I'd get the 2.0, but both are, well, good deals.

let's say i wouldn't be buying another comp for at least next 3 years. So should I go for 2.0 Ghz?

Short answer: it depends.

Long answer: it depends on how dear to you your Euro 400 is. 80GB HD isn't bad (though not extravagant), 1GB RAM is good and the 128MB VRAM is perfectly good for the vast majority of tasks (and indeed you probably wouldn't notice the extra 128MB VRAM anyway). Personally I would spend the extra cash to get the extra RAM, and harddrive space (100GB is a nice capacity if you deal with lots of iTunes tracks, movie files, photos) and because the incremental 0.2Ghz CPU speed (though mostly imperceptible in use) would be attractive to me.

And, BTW, title thread > MacBook rather than MAC Book

Edit:

Yes. In three years 80GB HD will seem on the low side.
