Well, I can't comment on the gunite, but my aunt and uncle have a fiberglass drop-in pool and it's really nice. If I'm not mistaken, it's quite a bit cheaper then a traditional concrete pool as well.

I'd say their pool is about 22ft x 12ft with one end I believe being about 6-7ft deep and the other about 3ft and is in what I'd call almost an 8 design. The pool also has 2 seats in each corner so it has 8 total which is very nice because you can sit in it and have a beer or drink or whatever and I know at least one set has jets in it.

It's a beautiful pool that has a light in the deep in and holds up amazing and you never have to repair concrete or anything like that.

Best of all, it comes with a 50 year warranty!

Our pool is concrete and tile, so can't help with the actual question, but: Pools rock. I absolutely love ours.

When I was growing up, our neighbours had a pool and they'd spend the entire summer at their cottage, so they let us use it all summer long! So we had a full back yard, and a pool to swim in. That was pretty sweet.

Can't help with your purchasing decision, but your post just brought back how nice that was .
