They're apparently pin-compatible with the regular Core 2, and they use a third of the energy. Would Apple consider these as a BTO option? Or are they more likely to go into the MacTablet?

LV and ULV chips are significantly more expensive. Maybe Apple will eventually offer this as a BTO option, but otherwise? Nah. They haven't with Core 1.

An ULV chip would work well in an ultra-slim, very light (3 lb.) notebook, sans optical drive. A 12" widescreen display would be very nice. Use the MB KB and magnetic closure and you have a very stylish portable.

Hybrid drives are coming out, too.

I'd love that kind of portable.

Oh yeah, almost forgot about that. A SlimBook with an optical drive is possible but we're talking about a very expensive ultra-portable. An equivalent Sony Vaio costs about $2600.
