So, this has been happening for years, I never really cared all that much since it's kinda cute, but at the same time I am curious as to why it's happening.
Every time I tell iTunes that Q-tip's solo album is "hip hop/rap", as soon as I play a track on the album, it CREATES a new genre and places the track there, the genre it creates is "hip-hop". I change it back, play the track again, it does it again. what exactly is the deal here? seems pretty nonsensical. I'm using the latest version of everything, but this problem has occurred since maybe itunes 4.7 |

Vivrant Thing is simply Hip-Hop for me. That's the only track of that album I got, so I'm not sure what the problem could be.

Apparently its looking it up online and ignoring what you set.
Why? I have no clue. Edit: i assumed you were playing it from cd. what source are you running it from? |

I've had a lot of trouble with one album in iTunes: The Curse album of Jay-Z's The Gift and The Curse Blueprint vol. 2. When I put it into the Mac and went to iTunes with it it looked okay, it gave the tracks a generic name. When it logged into CDDB to get the names, it came back with all the wrong information. It's basically just a copy of the Gift Album's info.
I think you've been screwed by CDDB like I was. |
