A friend of mine's dad is selling his 17" Powerbook and I wanted to see if you guys think this is a reasonable price for it, see specs below:
$1700 for the laptop. I've listed the specs below: Laptop: 17" PowerBook Notebook 1.67 GHz PowerPC G4 1GB DDR SDRAM 100GB Hard Drive Accessories: 1 Extra Battery 1 iSight camera Microsoft Office 2004 My dad's pristine music collection. I know the old Powerbooks can't hold a candle to the Macbook Pros, but I need something mobile to crank on work and since most of my production apps are not UB yet would this be a wise buy? |

What apps are those? Basically you have the option to future-proof your rig for a few years for $200 at the moment, with that price likely to drop when Merom hits the MBP. I'd think twice about this.

All the Adobe/Macromedia Apps. but you do have a good point with the iMacs recent update the MBPs can't be too far behind. I may wait this one out.
