This business poll is on the lower right side of the foxnews.com home page.
Apparently, out of 6,800 votes, 68% agree that the iPhone will be *a HUGE FLOP*. Quote:
Anyway, I think this poll is extremely annoying, and hope some of you will see if you can get your vote to work. Not that any of our votes will be able to counteract the thousands who seem to think the iPhone will be a HUGE FLOP. Grrrrrrrr. http://www.foxnews.com/ |

All it will prove is that 68% of people are stupid, and can't tell a hit when it's happening right under their noses. Does it matter which way the poll goes? It won't affect the real world at all.
In short, vote: Beer. |

Yeah, no kidding!
There are a lot of.... ummmm.... "the Fox News types" that just can't STAND Apple because they see them as a bunch of San Francisco hippies from Pelosi-land, Steve Jobs as a flaming liberal, and worst of all, Al Gore is on the Apple BoD. |

Millions of people in the US read that site. I was shocked to read that so many voted it would be a flop. Such poll results could easily influence thousands of uninformed people who are wavering to *not* buy the iPhone. |

Actually, I think there is a point here: it appears that if you are on a Mac, you can't vote.... Now that's worth protesting about....

It's a poll on the FOX NEWS web site. Do you honestly think that it matters?

I wouldn't think 'any' stock analyst would predict the iPhone would flop simply because he happens to work for a right-wing network. Think how foolish he'll look if iPhone sales take off. OR... maybe there are people here at AN who agree with him, that iPhone will flop. *shrug* |

I'm fairly sure any stock analyst worth his grain of salt will check more sources than just Fox News. Besides, it's kind of hard to ignore the hype that accompanied the launch.
That said, I've not been to Fox News website for hmm, ever. I had to chuckle seeing how they claim to "We report. You decide.", while their articles are emotionally laden, with several loaded appeals interjected between sentences and a general self-righteous aura to complete the propaganda reporting. And I made sure I wasn't reading an editorial or opinion or anything; nothing suggested that I was. If that's their reporting, I'm kind of afraid to see what their opinion pieces would be like... |

I couldn't vote from Safari. Damn that's a depressing site though (although sometimes it just makes me laugh). If this is where millions are getting the "news", no wonder the county is up to its ears in assdumb. No wonder George W. Bush can be President. Twice. (There I said it )
Typical loaded poll question: Joe Dingleberry thinks 600 is too expensive for a phone and it will be a big flop. They like to write like that. So do you think we should pull out of Iraq and admit defeat to the terrorists? Windswept I really don't think the poll will affect iPhone sales by one unit. OK one. |

What are you worried about Windswept? I thought you were a long term stockholder.
You want people to be wrong, so that they'll eventually figure it out and buy Apple. |

I swear to you all on my grandmother's grave...I had never ever ever been to foxnews.com.
Ho. Lee. Shit. It was just...um, like...christ, um.....a trailer park pretending to be Disneyland. I can't believe I live in the same universe, let alone country, where this is considered to be a worthwhile destination by some people. For news no less. FOR NEWS. My god. I don't even know what to say. I think I may cry. So it goes. |

Wow, lots of foxnews virgins here, it sounds like. Hey, every day I visit these online news sites: cnn, abcnews, msnbc, bbc, and foxnews. And when I'm watching news on CNN, and a commercial comes on, I switch immediately to ANY news channel that *isn't* showing a commercial at that moment... sometimes msnbc, sometimes CNN headline news, sometimes foxnews. (If they're *all* showing commercials, I'll switch to the travel channel or the home and garden network.) I'll watch virtually ANY news channel to avoid a Cialis, ditech, or Nexium commercial; so I've watched foxnews lots of times. I actually 'like' Neil Cavuto, for example. He seems like a very nice guy. I 'do' find Bill O'Reilly REALLY hard to stomach however. Omg! He's just so insufferably smug and self-congratulatory. I can't really watch him for more than a minute or two. Urk. |

Windswept, you should try NOT watching broadcast news for 6 months.
Took me about that long to get it out of my system. Don't miss it at all. And I have no problem staying abreast of the news that interests me with this new thing called the Internet!! You should check it out. Its a pretty cool and easy way to avoid the BS all the "news readers" are pushing on the masses. Different Strokes, for Different Folks. And So On and So On, and Skoobie Doobie Doobie. |
