I am using iChat v2.1 to video conference with someone using the latest version of AIM for Windows XP. The video always freezes about 5 minutes into the chat for me but the person using AIM does not have the same problem and can see me fine indefinitely. The video can easily be restarted if I close my screen and reinvite but it then freezes again. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks

im presuming your using an isight? i would check the updates for the isight and make sure theres no updates for it, and if that doesnt work.. try updating ichat(which im sure is possible, but dunno for certain) being that im relativily new to using macs.

I'd bet the problem is on the AIM on XP side of things and not the other way around.

I'd also make sure that your firmware is updated on your respective routers and double check the firewall settings on them.

I seriously doubt it would be a firewall problem. If it was, it wouldn't start the chat in the first place. The routers... maybe, but doubtful.

As unhelpful as it may seem, I'm leaning towards torifile on this one.

The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. The only way to guarantee thoughtful, informative discussion is to write thoughtful, informative posts. AppleNova is not a real-time chat forum. You have time to compose messages and edit them before and after posting.

I meant double check the router firewall settings after updating firmware so as not to add to the problem.
